Butterflies of Peace
One way we can contribute to the matrix of peace is by restoring calmness, compassion, and love within ourselves. When we are burdened with negative emotions—such as fear, sadness, or anger—there is little room for harmony, joy, and peace. Let us open ourselves to new possibilities of transformation and unfurl the wings of change! Let us trust that change is possible, even though it can be a demanding task. By changing ourselves, we can initiate a profound transformation. And let us remember how strong we are—together!
- Imagine you are standing in front of a great oak tree. Its roots spread wide, reaching deep into the Earth, down to the very core of the planet. Its branches stretch high into the sky, illuminated by the sun’s golden rays.
- Sit beside its trunk. Lean against the tree. Feel the strength, power, and wisdom supporting and protecting you. Now, allow yourself to notice the tensions in your body, the sadness in your heart, and the worries and fears in your mind. Observe how they appear to you—perhaps in different colors or shapes. You may feel them as aches in different parts of your body, or even sense them through smell. However they present themselves, simply observe them.
- Now feel the oak tree extend one of its branches to gently lift you to the top of its canopy. You sense the fresh air and the warmth of the sun. The tree softly enfolds you in a cocoon of leaves. You feel safe and at peace. Notice how the sun’s warmth and light dissolve your sadness, fears, and anger. Allow them to drift away.
- Then the mighty oak opens its leaves and you feel how much lighter you have become.Suddenly, wings appear on your back—beautiful butterfly wings, shimmering with colors. Take a moment to admire them, and fill yourself with gratitude, happiness, and love. Joyfully, you rise into the sky. And you are not alone—others, too, have grown their butterfly wings and are flying with you, light-hearted and free. What a magnificent butterfly effect this is!
