The Inaugural Lecture - Planetary Consciousness as a Lever for Sustainable Social Morphogenesis
On Thursday, 20 June 2024, my inaugural lecture entitled “Planetary Consciousness as a Lever for Sustainable Social Morphogenesis” took place.
The lecture reconceptualised the concept of sustainable development and responsible behaviour and offered new perspectives and ideas on how to activate awareness among individuals of the interconnectedness of humanity and the planet. It introduced the concept of planetary consciousness as a lever for an inclusive social identity that transcends the divisions a) in-group/out-group and b) society/nature. It addressed social trends manifested in environmental degradation, as well as in growing political conflicts and ideological polarisation, which undermine social cohesion and solidarity.
The lecture thus represents another step towards the synthesis of my work, which follows the desire to raise awareness that the Earth is a living organism and to strengthen the awareness that, in cooperation, we can forge new paths for the harmonious life of all beings.
